Description Starting at the Loch Lomond Shores National Park Gateway Centre, this is a guided hike across the hills from Loch Lomond to the famous Rennie Mackintosh Hill House in Helensburgh.
On the hike, your local, qualified guide will delight you with stories about the local area as you drink in those fantastic Loch Lomond views. At the end of your hike you will be treated to coffee or tea and cake in the Hill House Tea Room, followed by an EXCLUSIVE guided tour of the premises. THIS TOUR IS UNAVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC! At the end of your day you will be returned to Loch Lomond Shores by mini-bus - all included in the price!
The Hill House is considered to be Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s finest domestic creation. Sitting high above the Clyde, it is home to original Mackintosh furniture and interior design and also has attractive formal gardens designed recognisably in the Mackintosh style.
Although mainly on good paths and tracks, this hike is moderately strenuous, with some short sections over rough ground, and is suitable for those who take part in regular moderate exercise (e.g gym, swimming, keep fit class etc). Total distance 12km, total height gain 260 metres. (Walking time approximately four hours).
